How does the GREEN POWDER model work?

Questions that will interest you

How heavy can a big bag with powder coating residues be?

The big bag filled with powder coating residues should have a filling weight of at least 500 kg. The maximum weight should not exceed 1,000 kg.

Which big bag type is required for collecting the used powder?

Type C – Always connect ground terminals during operation. Other types are not permitted due to the insufficient electrostatic discharge potential - risk of dust explosion! The terminal points must be used precisely, otherwise no electrostatic charge will be discharged.

Does GREEN POWDER also accept powder paint residues  in other collection containers?

Yes, in this case please contact us in advance to coordinate an individual offer for you. We would be happy to advise you on how we can dispose the powder coating residues in alternative collection containers.

Can other paint waste also be disposed in the big bags for used powder?

No, this is not possible.
Powder coating residues can only be recycled if they are pure and without contamination. Under Download   you will find, among other things, the quality requirements (specification) for powder coating residues.

How are the big bags loaded?

The full big bags (minimum weight 500 kg) are stored on a pallet at the customer's.
When they are picked up, the big bags are loaded onto the truck by the customer. Each individual big bag is marked with a consecutive number on the truck to ensure quality controls and traceability.

How should the big bags be stored?

Until they are picked up, the big bags must be stored dry and protected from the weather and protected from direct sunlight.

What is the waste code number for the powder coating residues from coating systems?

The powder coating residues have the key no. 55 521 (Austria) or AVV 08 02 01 (EU)

How long does it take for the full big bags to be picked up?

Depending on the number of big bags and the urgency (e.g. storage option) at the customer's, we collect the powder coating residues within 14 days up to 2 months. The period depends on the customer needs, taking into account optimized logistics (avoidance of empty runs, etc.)

How are the powder coating residues recycled?

The collected old powder is screened and, depending on its quality characterization such as binder chemistry and purity, it is either recycled or thermally recycled. In the case of thermal recycling, the energy content is used sensibly via a special process technology for the production of new valuable materials. The recycling partner of our choice has the most modern emission control systems in Europe to protect the environment! At the same time, the development of other material recycling methods is being consistently promoted. At the moment, sensible further use or material recycling is severely restricted by the narrow quality parameters required for this. With the GREEN POWDER collection system, we jointly create the quality transparency and quantity basis to be able to go to new, even higher-quality recycling methods.

Who is GREEN POWDER?

GREEN POWDER sees itself as an initiative for the powder coating manufacturing and processing industry. Sooner rather than later, the Green Deal (EU) will also occupy the manufacturing industry even more intensively and generate specifications. The GREEN POWDER take-back system sees itself as a pioneer for the powder coating industry to set up a collection and recycling system across the EU. At the beginning Austria, Germany and Switzerland are the focus of our project.
